Master’s degree studies in graphic arts are dedicated to undergraduates or graduates of all artistic faculties, for example Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Painting, Art Education etc. Our practical courses are based on study of traditional graphic techniques, painting and drawing as well as the newest digital technologies and multimedia solutions.
Graphic design course units are conducted in a workshop format with use of Adobe applications. There are: Digital Picture Editing, Web Design, Multimedia, Illustration, Advertising Photography. During four semesters students have the possibility to learn different techniques of Printmaking: Intaglio (etching, aquatint, soft ground, dry point), Relief Printing (linocut), Silkscreen and Experimental Printmaking.
While studying this program you will be supported the whole way in your journey as you experiment with different skill sets; self-discovery is important and is an important value towards achieving your goals. In addition, we encourage the students to bring their own experiences and interests to their work, there is no “right answer”.
As a graduate of this program you will have to make decisions and designs in complex and unpredictable situations, react quickly to evolving ideas and advances in technology. Furthermore, the student will learn to work under pressure while also building their technics and conceptual skills that are highly prized within the Industry.
Our staff is gathered from the most experienced university teachers, recognized artists and scholars. The Institute of Fine Arts welcomes international students and values cultural diversity. All courses are taught in English.
The artistic master’s diploma is awarded in two specializations; Printmaking or Graphic Design .
The student is awarded a Diploma in the Master of Arts degree upon submission of a set of works in a chosen technique and made a presentation in the form of an exhibition.
When you apply to the MA Graphic Arts, its important that you help us get a good picture of both you and your work. So during the admission we request that you send us a portfolio of your past works for an assessment by the department faculty to acquire more insight into your ideas and abilities.
