  1. What is legalization?
    Legalization is official authentication of documents. It is Mandatory when applying to UMCS applicants have to present scans of legalized original or legalized copies of their academic documents. International applicants get documents legalized via 2 avenues (Whichever is applicable to Country of residence);
    a) Legalization by the Ministry of foreign affairs or Education (Or both) in their country and then followed by b) Legalization by the Polish Embassy or Consulate concerned with their country.
  2. What is an Apostille? An Apostille is a certificate that authenticates the signature of a public official on a document for use in another country. If Applicants documents was issued in a country which is a member of the Hague Convention of 5 October 1961, the legalisation process is performed in a form of Apostille located on or enclosed within the document. Please check if the country is a part of Hague Convention at the HCCH website.

      3. Which academic documents are required?

a) To apply for bachelors programme an applicant needs to submit academic documents entitling them for admission to tertiary education as in their own home country.

b) To apply for Master programme an applicant needs to submit academic document entitling them for admission according to Polish education structure or as in their own home country.

4. Do I need to have my academic documents translated into Polish

a) To apply for bachelors programme an applicant needs to submit academic documents entitling them for admission to tertiary education as in their own home country.
b) To apply for Master programme an applicant needs to submit bachelor documents entitling them for admission to masters as in their own home country.

Note: Applicant might be asked to send us additional documents, than those listed below, to support his/her application.

        5. Which health insurance policy should I choose?

A student can choose a health insurance policy of their choice; European Health Insurance Card or the candidate’s declaration to join a health insurance in National Health Fund immediately after starting education at UMCS. On the other hand, according to repatriation regulations, a foreigner of Polish origin can be insured by UMCS.
a) To apply for Visa at Polish Embassy for the purpose of traveling to pursue studies, an applicant is required to have valid travel health Please inquire from Embassy what type of travel health insurance policy is required.

       6. What is the Personal profile generated by the Online Registration System (after admission)?

The personal profile is generated from the applicants account in the Recruitment system. The personal profile document is auto filled  by data already entered by the applicant. This must be downloaded, signed and a scan sent to the Admissions team. 

7. Can I apply if I am a student in my final year of undergraduate?

Yes this possible. You can apply if you are in your final semester of last year of studies. In the application you will need to attach university last year confirmation letter and official copies of your transcripts.

8. What is an Eligibility Statement? 
This document is issued by the Ministry of Education, a government agency or institution responsible for overseeing education in your home country, or by the embassy. It confirms that your high school diploma or bachelor’s degree qualifies you to pursue university-level studies in your country.
