The studies in Data Science at the Faculty of Economics UMCS are interdisciplinary. The program aims to provide students with comprehensive knowledge of economic system and IT technology. Students will develop skills needed in the work of an analyst (e.g. Analytical Project, Soft Skills and Communication Training, Business Simulation).
The program is practical, i.e. it is based on experience of business practitioners and problem solving related to business practice. The program covers a 3-month work placement that allows students to gain professional practical experience during their studies. Students will be introduced, among others, to business simulations reflecting the dynamics of economic processes that will help them make decisions and observe results. The program draws on extensive use of online database available for students of the Faculty of Economics of UMCS.
A graduate of Data Science may find employment in a variety of industries and business entities (e.g. enterprises, banks insurance companies, research centers, marketing agencies and consulting firms) in the following positions: Business Analyst, Database Analyst, Financial Analyst, Business Operations Analyst, Market Research Analyst.

- Admission is open to both Polish citizens and international students.
- Programme is offered on a tuition-fee paying basis (TERMS OF ADMISSION HERE) to candidates holding a bachelor degree or any other equivalent degree which entitles them to undertake the Master’s degree programme in the country where the documents were issued.
NB: Polish and EU citizens as well as other candidates following the regulations pertaining to Polish citizens can study free of charge within the set limit of available places. There are 2 places offered without the tuition fee for such candidates. Admission will be granted on a “first come, first served” basis until available places have been filled - Eligibility for studies will be based on a ranking of points obtained on the basis of:
(1) assessment of the completed undergraduate course (0 to 30 points),
(2) cover letter (0 to 10 points),
(3) Letter of reference (0 to 10 points),
(4) an online interview, verifying knowledge of basic mathematics, quantitative methods and elements of programming (up to 50 points). - A candidate must submit a complete set of application documents (visit the Application Procedure Tab above ⭡).
- , including the certificate proving the applicant’s English language skills (list of recognized certificates: https://rekrutacja.umcs.pl/en/language-proficiency-certifications/ ) or a document confirming that the Education was fully conducted in English (issued by the school/University) and/or based on an interview in English.

- Academic documents: Bachelor degree original certificates with transcript of records (Apostille or legalized copies for international students) along with the eligibility statement. If the documents are issued in a different language other than English/Polish we require a translation.
