Master’s degree studies in graphic arts are dedicated to undergraduates or graduates of all artistic faculties, for example Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Painting, Art Education etc. Our practical courses are based on study of traditional graphic techniques, painting and drawing as well as the newest digital technologies and multimedia solutions.

Graphic design course units are conducted in a workshop format with use of Adobe applications. There are: Digital Picture Editing, Web Design, Multimedia, Illustration, Advertising Photography. During four semesters students have the possibility to learn different techniques of Printmaking: Intaglio (etching, aquatint, soft ground, drypoint), Relief Printing (linocut), Silkscreen and Experimental Printmaking.
The artistic master’s diploma is realized in Printmaking Speciality or Graphic Design Speciality. Diploma is a set of works in a chosen technique, presented in a diploma exhibition.
Our staff is gathered from the most experienced university teachers, recognized artists and scholars. The Institute of Fine Arts welcomes international students and values cultural diversity. All courses are taught in English. All graduates achieve Master of Fine Arts Degree.

- Admission is open to both Polish citizens and international students.
- Submission of an artistic portfolio. The Admission Board determines whether the specific content of undergraduate degree and portfolio meets the admission requirements of the master’s programme.
- Programme is offered on a tuition-fee paying basis to candidates holding an art-related bachelor degree or any other equivalent degree which entitles them to undertake the Master’s degree programme in the country where the documents were issued.
- A candidate must submit a complete set of application documents (visit Application Procedure Tab above ⭡), including the certificate proving the applicant’s English language skills (list of recognized certificates: https://rekrutacja.umcs.pl/en/language-proficiency-certifications/ ) or a document confirming that the Education was fully conducted in English (issued by the school/University) and/or based on an interview in English.
- Registration is open within the admission period or until all the vacancies are filled.
- Academic documents should be translated into Polish. Visit database of recognized sworn translators in Poland HERE.

The required registration fee payment is PLN 150 (the fee concerns applicants for Master degree in Graphic Arts only due to evaluation of artistic skills). Please check the instruction on how to make a payment in the system.

1) Create an account and fill in the required fields,
2) Scan and combine the following application documents into a single PDF file;
- Academic documents: Bachelor degree original certificates with transcript of records (Apostille or legalized copies for international students) along with the eligibility statement. If the documents are issued in a different language other than English/Polish we require a translation.
- Artistic Portfolio/catalogue of the candidate (PDF format) NB: Please contact the Admissions Office for further guidance.
- Certificate demonstrating the applicant’s English language proficiency (Refer to the list of recognized certificates) or contact the admissions team to schedule an interview.
- Passport bio page with clear details.
- Confirmation of payment for the APPLICATION FEE (mandatory)
- Candidate Profile Form:
– Complete the required fields in the portal,
– Download the candidate profile generated by the IRK application system,
– Print, fill in date, handwritten signature by the applicant.
3) Upload the consolidated PDF file (Documents mentioned above) into the application portal.
