The communication itself becomes more and more complex and it requires specialised knowledge and skills at different levels, including the level of international relations and politics. Program Highlights

International Political Communication (second degree) are two-year, full-time studies conducted in English language.

As a student of the „International Political Communication” studies you will have the opportunity to:

  1. Study in an international academic setting where classes are led by experts not only from UMCS but also from renowned institutions like – East Stratcom Task Force and partner universities such as Taras Shevchenko University Department of International Media Communications and Communication Technologies in Kiev, Ukraine and Vytautas Magnus University Department of Public Communication in Kaunas, Lithuania.
  2. Explore and cultivate their own interests through involvement in academic societies, undertaking internships and study visits to institutions relevant to the field of study. 
  3. Chose one of the two following specializations:
  • Strategic communication
  • AI and New Media International Political Communication
  1. Network with interesting people from the world of politics, diplomacy, media and culture

The International Political Communication program stands out for its unique nature, offering a comprehensive array of competencies across diverse areas such as international relations, contemporary global challenges, political communication, decision-making in the information age, cognitive science, sociology, and social psychology. Additionally, it emphasizes the integration of technology into political communication processes and cultivates critical and analytical thinking regarding the tools and effects of political communication.

Another notable aspect of the program is its blend of theoretical knowledge in specific fields with practical skills. Across nearly 40 courses spanning two specializations, students will benefit from instruction delivered by experienced academic teachers and expert practitioners

Graduate Profile

A graduate of the „International Political Communication” studies will acquire unique knowledge, skills and social competences, preparing both for the challenges of the modern labour market at the local or global level, as well as for conducting scientific research. The graduate of the studies will have multidisciplinary knowledge in the field of international relations and political and administrative sciences, with particular emphasis on the topic of global space and the process of international political communication.

What next?

People with expertise in communication are very valuable on the labour market. They are desired by business (especially international and transnational corporations operating in a culturally diverse environment), PR and advertising sector, media, international organisations, government and security structures, public administration, NGO’s, self-government,  etc. It is because information and communication skills are both a resource and a tool. They may be used in multiple ways.

Qualifications rules

The program is addressed to candidates with a bachelor’s degree or other equivalent. Prospective students register online in the UMCS Recruitment System and submit all necessary documents by the deadline or until all available places are filled. Candidates must demonstrate that they meet the requirements for knowledge of English at a minimum level. B2. If the candidate does not have a document confirming language proficiency at a specific level, an interview will be conducted to verify knowledge of English.
